Pacific Island Studies: PAIS 375

Words/terms are everything

Keep in mind the following:

1. Generate search terms on the subject

2. Remember to add the name of the island as part of the search term

3. If you are researching about Hawaiian people, use Hawaiian(s) as part of your search term

4. Place names are considered subject terms

5. Keep in mind the time period of your subject

6. You can also use subject databases. For example if your topic is about the environment, type  environment' in our database list. Your search results will bring up databases with the term environment in their titles. You will then need to select and search within that specific database in order for you to search for your specific topic.
