Case Studies

Searching for Case Studies in Library Databases

1. The Harvard Business Review (in Business Source Complete) publishes one case study per issue. These generally deal with fictitious companies but are very good studies of current problems faced by companies. Click Search within this publication and select Advanced Search. Enter the keyword case on the second search line.

 

2. EconLit with Full Text - Type the keywords case stud* into the search box and add a second subject search term if desired. The asterisk tells the database to search both the word study and the word studies.

 

3. SpringerLink – Either type keywords case stud* followed by your subject search term, or select the Business & Management discipline (on the right hand side) and then type in the word case. Be sure to uncheck the box that says "Include Preview-Only content"

 

4. Emerald Insight - Type keywords case stud* and your subject term. You may have to accept the privacy statement before you can continue. Only articles with a green check mark are available for your use.

 

5. Ebook Central – Choose Advanced Search under the search box. Change the first drop down to LC Subject Heading and type keywords case studies. Leave the second drop down as Keyword & Full Text and add your subject search term. This database returns entire ebooks or chapters in ebooks with case studies.
 

6. ProQuest One BusinessChoose Advanced Search under the search box. Enter your subject search term. Scroll down to Document Type and choose Case Study. You may also want to search The Journal of Business Case Studies in ABI/INFORM.

 

7. Entrepreneurial Studies Source offers case studies. Enter your subject search term and then scroll down to Publication Type and choose Case Study.

 

8. Business Insights Global provides nearly 2,000 case studies. Click the Case Studies tab to browse. Or, enter a subject keyword to focus your search.

 

9. The Journal of Case Studies contains case studies. Click Search within this publication and select Advanced Search. Enter the keyword case on the second search line.
