Flipster Guide

Click on the Flipster Database Link from the A-Z list on the Library Homepage. Enter your NET ID and Password.  You can then click on a magazine to view it within your browser.  You can also view Flipster content on any computer with an internet connection and on any phone, tablet, or other mobile device with a Wi-Fi connection.

NOTE: Flipster is not working on Firefox. Please choose another browser. 8/12/2020

​Offline viewing is available with the Flipster App.  You can download it to your iPad, iPhone, Android Phone, Android Tablet, and Kindle Fire Tablet.

1. Download "Flipster." Flipster is available in both the Google Play and Apple App Stores.
2. Open a separate internet browser on your mobile or tablet device and open the online version of Flipster while you are connected to BYU-Hawaii wifi or any other Wi-Fi service.  Select your preferred issue.
3. Once the magazine is loaded, click on the three-line task menu. Choose "Open in App."
4. Now you can enjoy reading Flipster magazines offline using the Flipster App!

To install the Flipster app on Kindle Fire:

1. From the home screen of your Kindle Fire, go to Settings.

2. Select Applications > Apps from Unknown sources (allow installation of applications that and not from Appstore) and select ON.

3. From your device, download the APK (app installer) by tapping this link:

4. Once the download is complete, tap on the file and select Install.

If you do not have access to Google Play for any reason, you can download the Flipster app for Android devices from the following link:

• To install the app, click the above link from your Android device to download the file.
• Once downloaded, tap the file to open it and begin the installation process.

Android protects you from inadvertent download and install of apps from locations other than Google Play (which is trusted). It blocks such installs until you enable the following setting:

Settings > Security > Unknown Sources

You need to make this configuration change before you download the app to your device.
